Practicing God's Love For You
Reflecting back on my life as an adolescent, I remember all the time and effort that I spent participating in different sports, all of which required me to practice. I always remember that I enjoyed playing in the game but I never really desired to go to practice. I have yet to meet someone who would rather practice than compete in their event. Yet, practice is essential; it's the stepping stone for any athlete to achieve greatness. You have probably heard the old cliché: "practice makes perfect." Although, one could practice something everyday and do so completely wrong and still never achieve any level of greatness. Truth be known, it's actually perfect practice that makes one perfect. It's repeating a certain exercise correctly until one can consistently carry out that same behavior on a regular basis. In the same way, the more that we practice and understand God's perfect love for us, the more consistent we will become at carrying out that same behavior in our everyday lives.
